TREND ALERT: FAIR SKIN

Photo:Stylesight

Pale or “porcelain” skin is taking over the beauty and fashion world. Maybe because of our current obsession with Twilight, True Blood, and Vampire Diaries?

Okay okay there might be other reasons for this trend like our obsession with youth and our awareness of skin cancer.

But to throw out some facts, the University of Toronto did a study that showed men found an ethereal purity and elegance to the porcelain look.

I know it has been a pain in the past finding makeup shades to match fair skintones, but makeup companies are catching on and Nicola Roberts took full advantage and launched her fair skin friendly line “Dainty Doll.”

Some stars that have supported this trend are Nicole Kidman and Cate Blanchett.

Have you laid off the tanning beds and bronzer?

Everything we white people say is racist, isnt it? Apparently we cant even inform people of the trend of today without having SOMEONE make it sound racist when it clearly isnt. Grow up people, we’re not calling you “dirty heathens” or anything racist, let us speak freely for once.

I for one think pale skin is absolutly beautiful because its seems untouched by the filthy sins of the world and represents the roots of America and England, which has much history in the fine arts and complicated, styllish trends. I also think the dark brown skin tone is gorgeous as well because it represents the roots of Africa, a beautiful and culteral country thats rich with history and diversity. And the way it sparkles in the light is stunning as well as if it has a warm, sun-kissed sense to it.
You see? Skin tone is beautiful nonetheless, it doesnt matter what the trend is. Its just an opinion, you shouldnt care about what others think and be happy with what skin you have because you were born with it. Skin is skin, (this may be cheesy and old, but its the absolute truth) but whats inside is what matters most, we’re all humans with thoughts and feelings.
